Accomplishments
Since September 2024
• Spearheaded establishment of $50k emergency snow removal fund
• Negotiated dedicated Highway Dept equipment for treatment/snow removal for each mountain
• Developed County Integrated Road plan to address road funding and maintenance shortfalls
• Followed up with Highway Dept and County Executive on SVEC and NWUD project road damages and repairs
• Implemented monthly Town Halls with District residents to improve constituent communication
• Continued efforts to increase transparency and accountability of decision-making
• Advocated for Northwest Untility District (NWUD) Water Board representation
• Voted for Erlanger standalone Emergency Room proposal acceptance; challenged both county contract versions with Erlanger based on potential for financial risk to county and clauses that increased maintenance burden onto taxpayers and substantially lower fair market value income
• Highlighted and fought for remedies to county’s careless spending of tax dollars on contributions to non-profits that are not compliant with Tennessee laws
• Organized and led Lewis Chapel Community planning meetings (2025 & 2026)
• Prepared justification for alternate source of electrical power to Lewis Chapel; county submitted to TVA during their Resource Planning Cycle
• Advocated for and suggested a solution for getting an emergency communications tower
• Spearheaded appointment of resident to Aging and Disability Agency for increased senior services
• Volunteered to chair and organize the stand up of the county’s Opioid Abatement Committee
• Clarified County Flood Plain Resolution and got board representation for District One
• Followed up on getting new solid waste containers, compactor, open top bin and the tracking of surplus disposal
• Met with state (Senator Todd Gardenhire-Henson Gap Road valley to sand pit) and national level (Senator Blackburn) legislators to discuss county and district infrastructure funding priorities
• Advocated for farmers and agrotourism with Lewis Chapel treasures pitch to Gov Lee’s key people and regional SETD district leadership (10 mayors, Chamber of Commerce, Gov. Lee’s tourism leads)
• Advocated for and encouraged local small business growth
• Strongly supported initiation of a Lewis Chapel farmers’ market
