Focused on responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and fiscal accountability. Introduced and supported two major resolutions-Mineral Severance Tax and Road Right of Way Procedures-to bring additional revenues to Highway Fund and to decrease taxpayer financial responsibility for damage to road right of ways from utility and private projects.

As a Surface Warfare Officer, assigned to several ships in positions of increasing responsibility including multiple deployments to the Pacific, Arabian Gulf and Mediterranean theaters in support of global operations. Significant expertise in engineering systems management, operations, and life cycle maintenance. Commanded USS Mount Baker. Selected for Major Command at Sea. Held leadership and management positions in policy, program development and implementation. Assignments ashore included leadership positions in OPNAV, SECNAV, Joint Staff, MSC, SECDEFencompassing strategy, plans, and operations and national security and defense policy (multi-agency) development and analysis. Earned multiple meritorious awards and decorations.
